The Municipal Police (Zabıta) teams are continuing district-wide inspections throughout the summer season without interruption. By using body-worn cameras during duties, teams are strengthening transparency, recording enforcement procedures, and maintaining the highest possible level of safety.
Across the peninsula, inspections focus on practices that disrupt public order, including breaches of designated pavement-occupation limits (işgaliye), touting/soliciting (hanutçuluk), begging, and unauthorised street vending. During July, dedicated pavement-occupation inspections were carried out on Atatürk Avenue, Çarşı Street (Çarşı neighbourhood), and Cumhuriyet Avenue (Kumbahçe neighbourhood).
As a result of these checks, pavement occupation violations were identified at 21 businesses, including seven found to be in breach of the Municipality’s 2025/64 Commission Decision. Administrative fines totalling 29,526 TL were issued under Article 38(1) of the Misdemeanours Law.
