Bodrum Municipality continues to replace street lights that have reached the end of their service life. As part of the programme delivered by the Electrical Works Unit under the Support Services Directorate, a total of 162 new lighting columns have been installed at various locations across the district.
New lighting columns have been provided along the seafront on İlk Adım Avenue in Güvercinlik Neighbourhood, Cumhuriyet Square, and 1st Coastal Road Avenue (60), the Gündoğan seafront (20), Şevket Sabancı Avenue and Belediye Avenue in Bahçelievler Neighbourhood (22), the Turgutreis Bazaar area (12), Ethem Kaptan Street and Adnan Menderes Avenue in Gümbet Neighbourhood (10), Filiz Cul-de-sac in Yokuşbaşı Neighbourhood (17), streets in and around Karakaya in Yeniköy Neighbourhood (16), the Küçükbük seafront (3), and the children’s park on İstasyon Avenue in Mumcular Neighbourhood (2). In addition, 10 floodlights have been installed around the pitch in Çiftlik Neighbourhood, which is nearing completion.
New-generation LED lighting fixtures have been used throughout the works. Mounted on 6 m hot-dip galvanised, salt-resistant, TEDAŞ-approved columns, the fixtures provide high light output with low energy consumption, feature salt-protected construction, and come with an operating guarantee of 50,000 hours, offering a long-lasting solution.
This district-wide renewal programme is improving energy efficiency while raising lighting standards in public spaces. Lighting works will continue without interruption in line with the established plan.
