STREET LIGHTING RENEWAL WORKS CONTINUE ACROSS BODRUM

Bodrum Municipality continues to replace street lights that have reached the end of their service life. As part of the works carried out by the Electrical Works Unit under our Support Services Directorate, a total of 162 new lighting columns have been installed at various locations across the city.

New lighting columns have been installed along the coastal strip on Güvercinlik Mahallesi İlk Adım Caddesi, Cumhuriyet Meydanı and 1. Sahil Yolu Caddesi (60), the Gündoğan seafront (20), Bahçelievler Mahallesi Şevket Sabancı Caddesi and Belediye Caddesi (22), the Turgutreis Çarşı area (12), Gümbet Mahallesi Ethem Kaptan Sokak and Adnan Menderes Caddesi (10), Yokuşbaşı Mahallesi Filiz çıkmazı (17), streets in and around Yeniköy Mahallesi Karakaya (16), the Küçükbük seafront (3), and the children’s park on Mumcular Mahallesi İstasyon Caddesi (2). In addition, 10 floodlights have been installed around the pitch in Çiftlik Mahallesi, which is nearing completion.

The works use new-generation LED lighting equipment, mounted on 6 m hot-dip galvanised, salt-resistant, TEDAŞ-approved galvanised columns. These fixtures offer high light output with low energy consumption and a salt-protected structure, with an operating guarantee of 50,000 hours, providing a long-lasting solution.

Through this citywide renewal programme, we are improving energy efficiency while raising lighting standards in public spaces. In line with the established plan, our lighting works will continue without interruption.
