Bodrum Municipal Police (Zabıta) teams are carrying out ongoing inspections to safeguard public order and residents’ wellbeing, with a focus on begging, unauthorised street vending, and unlicensed scrap collection.
Inspections are prioritised in areas experiencing high visitor numbers. Where violations are identified, penalty procedures are applied under the Misdemeanours Law, and goods sold by unauthorised street vendors are confiscated. Unlicensed scrap collectors operating in residential areas are also subject to enforcement action and removed from the area where necessary.
To raise public awareness, the municipality has also distributed Turkish- and English-language brochures and posters, advising residents and visitors not to give money to beggars and instead to support recognised local charities.
During 2025, a total of 162 enforcement actions were carried out across these three areas, resulting in fines totalling 478,386 TL. Inspections will continue without interruption to protect public order and ensure public safety.
