WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY EVENT HELD IN TURGUTREİS
To promote environmental awareness across the community, a World Environment Day event was held on Thursday, 12 June at Turgutreis Atatürk Meydanı (Atatürk Square), coordinated by Bodrum Municipality’s Cleaning Affairs Directorate.
As part of the event, sculptures created from reclaimed materials at the Class 1 Waste Drop-off Centre in Konacık, along with posters prepared by students, were exhibited. Information stands were also set up by the Cleaning Affairs Directorate and the Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste.
Further support was provided through stands hosted by Çöpüne Sahip Çık Vakfı (a foundation focused on waste responsibility), Misgibi1Bodrum (a community environmental working group), Bodrum Tohum Derneği (Bodrum Seed Association), Bodrum Sanat ve Kültür Derneği (Bodrum Arts and Culture Association), and Kezban Alacık from the Kompost Atölyesi (Compost Workshop). The Bodrum Orman İşletme Şefliği (local forestry authority) also contributed by distributing 250 stone pine saplings.
