SEABED CLEAN-UP CARRIED OUT IN GÜMBET
The second stage of this year’s traditional seabed-cleaning programme in Bodrum was held on Wednesday, 21 May at Gümbet Beach. Coordinated by Bodrum Municipality’s Support Services Directorate and Cleaning Affairs Directorate, a volunteer diving team made up of municipal staff removed a total of 43 kg of waste from the seabed. The most striking item recovered during the operation was a washing machine.
At the end of the event, the collected waste was displayed on Gümbet Beach to raise awareness, underlining the importance of keeping the sea clean and strengthening environmental responsibility.
