Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology
Located within Bodrum Castle, the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology is regarded as one of the world’s most important museums dedicated to underwater archaeology. It is also one of the most popular places to visit in Bodrum.

The museum has 14 exhibition halls and houses one of the richest collections of Eastern Mediterranean amphorae in the world. Among the important finds on display are the shipwrecks of Yassıada, Şeytan Deresi and Serçe Limanı.

One of the museum’s most remarkable exhibits is considered to be among the oldest known shipwreck remains in the world. Displayed in the Serçe Limanı Glass Wreck Hall, this wreck belongs to a vessel that sank in 1025. Approximately three tonnes of broken and intact glass were recovered from the ship. The museum also displays one of the world’s largest collections of Islamic glass.
