The Directorate of Veterinary Affairs continues its initiative, which was launched some time ago, to provide interventions for street animals in every neighborhood of Bodrum, with the recent activities taking place in Bitez Neighborhood.

During the intervention in Bitez, 40 cats were microchipped, 44 cats received rabies vaccinations and internal-external parasite treatment, 13 dogs were microchipped, 20 street dogs received rabies vaccinations and 26 dogs received internal-external parasite treatment. As part of the collaboration between the Directorate of Veterinary Affairs, neighborhood mukhtars (local administrators) and animal-loving citizens, health interventions have been carried out in seven neighborhoods using the Mobile Health Vehicle since July 6, 2023. This ongoing project shall cover a total of 56 neighborhoods.

So far, a total of 272 stray street animals, comprising 126 cats and 146 dogs, have received health services thanks to the efforts of the municipal teams.
