07.03.2025
On March 7, just ahead of International Women’s Day, Bodrum Municipality inaugurated its first-ever Women’s Support Center in Çiftlik Neighborhood. This initiative, led by the municipality’s Women & Family Services Department in collaboration with the Department of Culture & Social Affairs, aims to empower women, foster solidarity and create opportunities for personal and social growth.
The opening ceremony brought together Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality officials, local representatives and many residents who gathered to celebrate this milestone.
The Women’s Support Center will serve as a hub for educational workshops, awareness programs and community-building activities designed for women and children. Officials emphasized that this is not just a physical space but a symbol of women's solidarity, equality and empowerment.
Mayor Mandalinci highlighted the municipality’s commitment to ensuring that women play an active role in all aspects of life, from education to employment, politics to culture.
“This center will provide a space for women to learn, share, and grow together. It is just the first step in a broader effort to establish more centers across Bodrum’s neighborhoods”, Mandalinci stated.
Following the speeches, Mayor Mandalinci joined the attendees in officially opening the center, touring the facility and visiting a special booth set up by the Women & Family Services Department. The new center, located on the upper floor of the Çiftlik Neighborhood Office, will offer a variety of social and educational programs tailored to the needs of women and children in the community.
