Zero Waste Pilot Area: Bodrum
Bodrum district was elected pilot area works in zero waste studies by Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change.
Committee of Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change coming Bodrum and did a field study. On Wednesday 26th February, holding zero waste meeting made presentation in Bodrum District Governership. At the meeting, it was state that Bodrum is an important region with its natural, historical and cultural properties and remarking that the studies to be done here is important. It was evaluated that each district has its own characteristics and that Bodrum is a place with a high level of awareness and consciousness which is valuable. At the Meeting ,which is sharing informations with Bodrum commune, also touched on importance of zero waste projects as part of municipality.
It was also underlined that the basic level Zero Waste Certificate received by Bodrum Municipality in 2021 is a positive begining within the scope of the works to be done.
In the meeting , which is making information sharings about establishment method of zero waste management system, emphasized that necessary of makes common works provincial directorate with municipality.
Among the meeting outcomes was that effective results would be achieved through cooperation to eliminate waste problems. Studies will be initiated to determine projects suitable for Bodrum's geographical, demographic and economic structure. The summer population will be taken into consideration in the studies and the studies will be accelerated as Bodrum is the pilot district.
