RAISING AWARENESS, STRENGTHENING READINESS: BODRUM'S JOINT EFFORT AGAINST DISASTERS

Bodrum Municipality and the Bodrum Governorship have launched a joint initiative to raise public awareness and enhance disaster preparedness. As part of the initiative, town’s people were provided with information on disaster readiness, including measures against volcanic eruptions and tsunamis, through distributed brochures.
The awareness effort involved personnel from the Bodrum Governorship, Bodrum Municipality's Disaster Affairs Directorate, Field Solution and Municipal Police teams, as well as the neighborhood heads of Tepecik and Eskiçeşme. Moreover, teams from the Bodrum District Police Department, Gendarmerie Command and AFAD (disaster and emergency management presidency) volunteers participated in the initiative.
Teams conducted outreach activities in central Bodrum and surrounding neighborhoods, including Turgutreis, Gümüşlük, Peksimet, Dereköy, Akyarlar, Yahşi, Müsgebi, Gümbet and Bitez. Businesses were also provided with informational brochures to reinforce earthquake preparedness.
Authorities emphasized the critical importance of disaster awareness and confirmed that similar educational efforts will continue across the Bodrum Peninsula.
