Bodrum Municipality Organizes Cinema Event for Students
In a heartwarming initiative, Bodrum Municipality brought students together for a special cinema event, combining education with entertainment. The event was held for students attending courses at the Güvercinlik Social Activity Center and the Turgutreis Şevket Sabancı Culture & Arts Center, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy the magic of cinema during their winter break.
On January 21 and 22, the Oasis Bodrum Cinemarine became the venue for 105 excited students to watch two family-friendly films, “Rafadan Tayfa Kapadokya” and “Şampiyonlar”. Organized by the municipality’s Directorate of Culture & Social Affairs, the event aimed to offer the children a day filled with joy and inspiration.
Since 2022, the municipality has been offering free educational courses in several locations, benefitting 215 students from elementary, middle and high schools. The ongoing courses at the Güvercinlik Social Activity Center and the Turgutreis Şevket Sabancı Culture & Arts Center focus on core subjects like Mathematics and Turkish, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to supporting youth education.
Speaking about the initiative, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci emphasized the importance of fostering both education and cultural awareness:
“As the municipality, we aim to contribute to the education of our children, our bright future, while also engaging them with the arts. This cinema event is one of many efforts to enrich their development. We firmly believe in the transformative power of art and will continue to focus on initiatives that bridge education and culture.”
