Mayor Tamer Mandalinci presented the Joint Women’s Neighborhood Councils Policy Proclamation at an event held at Trafo Bodrum on November 25, coinciding with The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The policy, part of the “From Bodrum to Türkiye: Women Building an Equal & Violence-Free City” project, focuses on empowering women and fostering inclusive governance at the neighborhood level.
The event brought together municipal officials, representatives from women’s NGOs and local leaders. In his remarks, Mayor Mandalinci stressed the significance of collective action against gender-based violence. “Today, we renew our commitment to ensuring that no woman, anywhere in the world, suffers from violence. Our policies prioritize women’s active participation in both professional and social life”, Mandalinci stated.
Mayor Mandalinci further highlighted the role of the Women and Family Services Directorate, established in 2022, in supporting victims of violence and raising public awareness. Mandalinci also expressed gratitude to all contributors for their role in forming the Women's Neighborhood Councils, emphasizing their pivotal role in advancing equality and safety in the community.
