Thirteen Muğla Districts, One United Stand
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci recently participated in the prestigious World Travel Market (WTM) in London, one of the most influential events in the global travel and tourism industry. Held from November 5-7, the expo brings together key players to discuss and shape the future of international tourism.
Alongside Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras, other district mayors and tourism representatives, Mayor Mandalinci was on hand to boost the visibility of the Muğla region, highlight its unique attractions and explore new tourism opportunities. This year, the Muğla booth, representing all thirteen districts, offered an immersive experience showcasing the area’s natural wonders, cultural heritage and tourism potential. Bodrum’s dedicated section within the stand attracted considerable interest from visitors and industry professionals alike.
Under the leadership of Mayor Aras, the Muğla delegation engaged in important discussions aimed at strengthening international connections and opening doors to sustainable development. The team met with key figures, including Turkish Ambassador to the United Kingdom Osman Koray Ertaş, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan, TÜSİAD London Network President Dr. Hasan Turunç, the President of the CHP Association to UK Mehmet Şar and Turkish visitors residing in London.
Mayor Mandalinci, reflecting on Bodrum’s international engagement efforts, stated, “We are committed to bolstering our city’s global relations.”.
Mayor Mandalinci shared his thoughts on the fair and the meetings in London, noting:
“The World Travel Market provided us with an invaluable opportunity to showcase Bodrum’s beauty, history and tourism potential to the world. In London, we held comprehensive discussions on tourism, eco-friendly energy solutions and bilateral trade relations, exchanging ideas about future projects and shared goals. As local government leaders, we are dedicated to ensuring Bodrum reaches its rightful place on the world tourism stage. We shall continue to take impactful steps to strengthen our city's international ties and recognition.”
