The first leg of the Kos & Bodrum Friendship Concert was held on the Island of Kos.

The Second Kos&Bodrum Friendship Concert, organized by Kos Municipality, was held on September 29, 2024, on Island of Kos.

The  event was attended by Tamer Mandalinci, the Mayor of Bodrum, Deputy Mayors, President of the Bodrum Regional Representative Board Mustafa Demir, İMEAK DTO Bodrum Branch Chairman Orhan Dinç, BODTO Board of Directors Member Erdem Ağan, BOTAV General Secretary Galip Gür, Municipal Council Member , Committee Chairman of “Two Coast Cultural Festival” Nil Taşkıran and Foreign Affairs Departments Head Celal Cem Dengiz, representing Ahmet Aras ,The Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality , at the invitation of the Kos Municipality. Rhodes Turkish Consul General Salim Kırcalıali and Turkish and Greek citizens living on Kos Island also took part in the concert event.

“Here we sing for love and peace”

At the concert, which started with the opening speeches, Kos Mayor Theodosis Nikitaras thanked Mayor Tamer Mandalinci for his participation and said, “This is the first time such a young mayor is taking part. He came to Greece for the first time today with his baby. We seal our friendship and solidarity here tonight. We sing for love and peace. "For solidarity with music, let's travel to a perfect evening with music together with Greece and Türkiye," he said.

“Türkiye and Greece are a very big family”

Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, on the other hand, reminded that he was in Kos last year as a Bodrum Municipal Council Member and that they had a wonderful concert in this square, depicting common songs, common values, feelings and thoughts that reinforced Turkish-Greek friendship, and mentioned the following:

“Today, I stand before you as Turkey's youngest male mayor and as the Mayor of Bodrum. I am extremely happy and proud of this. I brought you greetings from your brothers from Bodrum. They also say 'hello' to you and hopefully we look forward to seeing you all in Bodrum in two weeks. Türkiye and Greece are a very big family. Together we are brotherhoods, together we are neighbors. That's why I, along with my family, am extremely happy to be a part of this family. Our brotherhood and friendship will remain forever. "In these lands, in these seas, we will announce the wonderful friendship and brotherhood of the Aegean and the Mediterranean to the whole world, and we, as politicians, will always defend friendship, brotherhood and peace."

Bodrum will resounds with Turkish and Greek Tunes

The second phase of the event, the “5th International Two Coasts Cultural Festival”, will be held on October 11,12,13 2024, at Kumbahçe Square.
