BODRUM CELEBRATES SEPTEMBER THE 19th ‘THE VETERANS DAY’

Accordingly September 19th The Veterans Day was held ceremony in Bodrum Municipality Square.

 

The ceremony was held at Bodrum Municipality Square on the occasion of "September The 19th “The Veterans Day", within the scope of the 103rd anniversary of the granting of the rank of Marshal and the title of Veteran to Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The ceremony was attented by Bodrum District Governer Mustafa Çit, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, chief public prosecutor  Hasan Dalak, Garrison Commander Colonel Ertan Benli, Hasan Külcü, the President of the ‘Turkish Veterans Association - Bodrum Branch’, veterans, relatives of martyrs and veterans, director of departments, representatives of political parties and NGOs, veterans, teachers, students and citizens.

Having begun with wreath presentation at the footsteps of the Atatürk statue,continued with a minute of silence and the national anthem.The ceremony ended with a group photo after the expressing the meaning and importance of day Hasan Külcü, the President of the ‘Turkish Veterans Association - Bodrum Branch’, veterans, relatives of martyrs and veterans.

Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, in his speech on Veterans Day, emphasized that they will always stand by the families of martyrs and veterans. He stated, "You esteemed veterans, who follow the path of our Republic's founder Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and act with the principle that 'we will willingly sacrifice our lives when necessary' in the defense of our homeland, have served in very valuable roles both domestically and abroad. You live today with the sacred status of being a veteran. I take pride and happiness in being with you and living in Bodrum alongside you. Together with our President of the “Turkish Veterans Association” Hasan Külcü, we will continue to make every effort to realize your requests and suggestions. All our resources are mobilized for you. I wish you a happy Veterans Day."
