A NEW GREEN SPACE IN MEMORY OF MUHİTTİN ORHON

The name of Muhittin Orhon, who passed away in a traffic accident, has been given to the park and recreation area located on İnönü Street in Dirmil Neighborhood. The opening ceremony for Muhittin Orhon Park took place on Friday, August 2nd, organized by Bodrum Municipality.


The opening ceremony was attended by Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Özgür Karabat, CHP Muğla Deputies Süreyya Öneş Derici, Gizem Özcan and Cumhur Uzun, CHP Istanbul Deputies Ayşe Sibel Yanıkömeroğlu, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, Mayor  of Marmaris Acar Ünlü, CHP Bodrum District Chairman Tuna Işın and district administration, municipal council members, representatives of NGOs, Dirmil Neighborhood Head Mehmet Kara, Muhittin Orhon’s family, donor Eraslan family, deputy mayors, municipal department heads and personnel, press members and neighborhood residents.

Following a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, Dirmil Neighborhood Head Mehmet Kara, in his opening speech, expressed his gratitude to Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci and everyone who contributed to the creation of the park and recreation area in Dirmil Neighborhood.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, thanking everyone who helped bring to life the park that immortalizes the name of Muhittin Orhon, noted in his speech that this park has provided a significant space for relaxation, recreation and family enjoyment in Dirmil Neighborhood. Mandalinci stated:

"As the Mayor of Bodrum, I promise that we will continue to increase the number of functional, high-quality parks that offer enjoyable experiences for young people, women, children and families, just like the 305 parks we currently have in Bodrum. Let our park live on with its name. As the municipality, we will always maintain all aspects of this park, including its infrastructure and superstructure."
