PRESERVING BODRUM'S BLUE: SEABED CLEANING IN TORBA

The eleventh stage of the Seabed Cleaning initiative, organized by the Bodrum Municipality under the slogan "The Sea Deserves the Most Blue" took place at Torba Beach.
This annual event, now in its eleventh year, aims to clear the seabed of waste and raise public awareness about marine conservation. The latest cleaning effort at Torba Beach was spearheaded by the Municipality’s Support Services and Cleaning Affairs Directorates and featured a volunteer diving team. Participants included municipal staff, Torba district head Fatma Kavcar and local residents.
Bodrum Municipality, in collaboration with non-governmental organizations, is committed to ensuring the sustainability of natural life. The Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) provided boat support for the Seabed Cleaning initiative.
During the event, 93 kilograms of waste were removed from the seabed. The collected waste was displayed in front of Torba Harbor before being transported to the Bodrum Municipality's 1st Class Waste Collection Center for recycling.
The twelfth stage of the Seabed Cleaning initiative is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 31st, at Güvercinlik Beach.
