YALIKAVAK MARKET AREA PROJECT ADVANCES UNDER MAYOR MANDALİNCİ'S SUPERVISION
24.07.2024
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci recently inspected the ongoing construction of the Yalıkavak Covered Market Area and Social Activity Zone in Yalıkavak district.
During his visit, Mayor Mandalinci reviewed the project details and emphasized the intense efforts being made to open the market area by April 2025. Mandalinci stated, “We are committed to rapidly completing the Yalıkavak Market Area for the benefit of Yalıkavak residents and Bodrum’s stallholders.”
Highlighting the project's benefits, Mayor Mandalinci explained that once completed, the market area will centralize fishermen, alleviate parking issues and provide Yalıkavak with a modern, efficient marketplace. Mandalinci noted that the foundational work is expected to be completed by the end of August, with the entire project slated for completion by April 2025.
Project Overview
The Yalıkavak Market Area Project is designed to fulfill the district's needs for a market area, parking and social activity zones. The development includes a basement and a ground floor.
The basement will house parking facilities, technical spaces, storage areas and a cistern, encompassing a gross construction area of 5,000 square meters. Addressing Bodrum’s water scarcity, the cistern is designed to collect rainwater from the roof, with a capacity of approximately 250 cubic meters. The parking area will accommodate around 100 vehicles.
On the ground floor, a service structure spanning 280 square meters will be established. The Yalıkavak Covered Market Area and Social Activity Zone will feature a shading system that covers 5,000 square meters, with the entire project’s construction area totaling 10,000 square meters.
