Seabed Cleaning Continues at Türkbükü Beach
The Seabed Cleaning event, organized by the Municipality with the slogan "The Sea Deserves the Most Blue” continued this week at Türkbükü Beach.
The tenth phase of the Seabed Cleaning, organized by the Municipality to clear the seas and bays of waste and ensure the sustainability of natural life, took place on Wednesday, July 17th at Türkbükü Beach.
The event, carried out by a volunteer diving team under the organization of the Municipality's Support Services & Sanitation Works Directorate, was attended by the Deputy Mayor Yaşar Çelikkan representing the Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, relevant municipal department heads, municipal personnel and Türkbükü Neighborhood Headman Yücel Ertuğrul.
During the cleaning activity, which aims to protect the habitats of marine life and raise public awareness, 219 kilograms of waste were removed from the seabed. The waste, displayed in front of the Türkbükü Municipal Cafe, was taken to the 1st Class Waste Collection Center for recycling.
The Seabed Cleaning Event will continue on Wednesday, July 24th, at Torba Beach.
