PRESERVING BODRUM'S BLUE: SEABED WASTE CLEANING IN GÜMBET

The seabed cleaning effort by Bodrum Municipality continued in Gümbet. Under the motto “The Sea Deserves the Most Blue” the initiative aims to clean the seas and shores of waste. The 8th phase of the Seabed Cleaning Project took place in Gümbet Bay.
Organized by the Municipality's Support Services and Cleaning Affairs Directorate, the event featured a volunteer diving team. Representing Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, Deputy Mayor Yaşar Çelikkan, as well as relevant department heads and staff, attended the event.
The volunteer diving team removed approximately 103 kilograms of waste from the sea. The waste was displayed on Gümbet beach before being transported to the 1st Class Waste Collection Center for recycling.
The 9th stage of the Seabed Cleaning will take place on Wednesday, July 10th, at Gündoğan beach.
