Following the completion of renovation work, the Binnaz Karakaya Indoor Swimming Pool, which reopened last month, was visited by Mayor Tamer Mandalinci. Mayor Mandalinci took part in a training session with athletes from the Bodrum Swimming İhtisas Club. Together with the athletes, Mayor Mandalinci unfurled the Turkish flag in the pool and celebrated May 19th, the Commemoration of ‘Atatürk, Youth & Sports Day’.

In his statement, Mayor Mandalinci said, "On May 19th, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, we had a wonderful pool training session with the athletes. As the municipality, we have always supported sports and athletes. We demonstrate this not just through words but through our actions. Today, we had an excellent training session with my young friends. Here, we aim to nurture generations inspired by Atatürk. We strive to provide opportunities for the development of respectful, ethical and cultured youth who are integrated with sports, nature and Bodrum. I reiterate the promise I made to the young athletes here: wherever there is a need for us in any sport, we will continue to establish facilities in that sport, to produce the athletes of tomorrow, the future national team players, from Bodrum."
