Drip Irrigation for Water Saving
The Agricultural Services Directorate of Bodrum Municipality has implemented a drip irrigation system in the mandarin orchards located in the Bitez.
In an effort to conserve water and demonstrate effective agricultural practices, Bodrum Municipality has implemented a drip irrigation system in mandarin orchards located in Bitez, which is municipality owned land.
To grow Bodrum mandarins under ideal conditions, the 5-decare orchard previously used a flood irrigation system. With advancements in technology, a "Drip Irrigation System" has now been implemented to reduce labor and simplify maintenance.
This system will save up to 60% of water and reduce unnecessary weed growth by irrigating only the needed areas. Additionally, the drip irrigation system ensures the most efficient and effective watering, delivering water directly to the plants with minimal loss.
