A Celebration: Fostering Bonds Between Nature & Community
‘The Annual Seed Swap Festival’ was held with the collaboration of Bodurm Municipality and Bodrum Seed Association
“The Seed Swap Festival”, which was held On Sunday, March 3th, drew attention by citizens at Kumbahçe neighborhood. The festival was attended by the Deputy Mayor Ibrahim AKBAŞ, Bodrum Seed Association Chairman Ercan ARIKAN.
The festival commenced with a moment of reverence and the national anthem, followed by an insightful speech by Ercan ARIKAN, the Chairman of the Bodrum Seed Association. Arıkan emphasized the goals of the association, giving a speech on the vital role of trees and seeds in our ecosystem.
Mehmet Ali BAHAR, the Director of Agricultural Services at Bodrum Municipality, underscored the importance of seed preservation, stating, "Caring for seeds is nurturing life, vitality and productivity."
Following in the speeches, at the Festival, Public Education Center’s Women Folk Dance Group gave a performance to the public which was admiringly watched by citizens.
The festival offered a series of engaging activities, including mime performances, interactive workshops on seed collection, composting, seed germination techniques and sourdough bread baking. In addition a concert by Folk Music Artist “Süreyya Canpolat” was performed.
