BLACK SEA SPIRIT SWEEPS THROUGH BODRUM

With the support of Bodrum Municipality, the Annual 8th Bodrum Anchovy Festival was held by the Bodrum Peninsula Black Sea Culture & Solidarity Association.
The festival held the day before yesterday was attended by the Bodrum District Governor Mustafa ÇİT, AK Party Muğla Deputy Kadem METE, CHP Muğla Deputy Süreyya Öneş DERİCİ, Mayor Ahmet ARAS, political party representatives, association executives and people residing in Bodrum Peninsula.
Stalls selling goods typical of the Black Sea region drew attention at the festival, where 3 tons of anchovies were distributed. The event featured performances by Hülya Polat, Erol Şahin, Nihat Yılmaz, Safa Tatoğlu, Süleyman Gülten, and Emre Yetimoğlu. Thousands of attendees relished in the taste of anchovies while the lively tunes of kemençe and tulum set the rhythm for the traditional horon dance.
Sefer Çelik, the Chairman of the Bodrum Peninsula Black Sea Culture & Solidarity Association, expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters.
Mayor ARAS emphasized that Bodrum is a multicultural city, stating, "We live together in Bodrum as brothers, friends and companions. Despite those who seek to disrupt this brotherhood, we shall live together in unity forever. I appreciate the valuable contributions of the association that organized this beautiful event, the chairman and board of directors."
The festival carried on until late into the evening, drawing a substantial crowd.
