INAUGURATION OF 60 PARKS IN BODRUM

Mayor Aras: "Elevating Bodrum to its Well-Deserved Splendor"
Bodrum Municipality celebrated the collective opening of a total of 60 parks with a ceremony, marking the completion of their construction process.
The opening ceremony took place at Peksimet Park on Kadıkalesi Gümüşlük Street in Peksimet Neighborhood, where projects were prepared and completed by the Directorate of Parks & Green Areas in 2023. Mayor Ahmet Aras, CHP Party Council Member Alkım Denizaslanı, municipal council members, deputy mayors, directors of municipal departments and staff, Peksimet Neighborhood Head Adnan Süzen, neighborhood residents, children and press members attended the opening ceremony.
Mayor Aras, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure for a city, provided insights into ongoing sewage and treatment plant projects in the district.
Deputy Mayor Tayfun Yılmaz stated, "Through the efforts made since 2019, we have added 314 parks and recreational areas to Bodrum. Bodrum sets an example in Türkiye with 8.1 square meters of green space per person. Going forward, we are committed to preserving these social amenities and serving the people of Bodrum from 2024 to 2028."
Mayor Aras expressed gratitude to all involved in park creation and outlined plans for upcoming projects, including markets, sports facilities, kindergartens and a women's shelter.
Following the speeches, Mayor Aras, alongside participants, ceremoniously cut the ribbon, officially declaring the parks open.
At the end the opening ceremony, children received various gifts and the Parks & Green Areas Directorate teams provided garden plant seedlings to the people.
