TURGUTREIS WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL-STANDARD FOOTBALL FIELD

ADMIRAL TURGUT REIS FOOTBALL FIELD INAUGURATED

The Admiral Turgut Reis Football Field, brought up to contemporary standards through the efforts of Bodrum Municipality, was officially inaugurated in a ceremony hosted by Mayor Ahmet Aras.

Attending the event hosted by Mayor Ahmet Aras were Alkım Denizaslanı, a member of the CHP Central Executive Board, Mehmet TOP, deputy chairman of the Türkiye Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation and Muğla Provincial Chairman. Fikret Öztürk; the Chairman of the Board for Bodrumspor Inc., municipal council members, deputy mayors, municipal department directors and staff, Ali Saygı, the mukhtar of Karabağ Neighborhood, district sports club presidents and sportsmen, journalists and citizens were also present.

Having commenced with the Aykoç Concert, the opening programme featured a moment of silence and the national anthem. Afterwards, the messages of the absent invitees were read.

In his opening speech, Mayor Ahmet Aras provided an overview of the four-and-a-half-year process of the undertaken works, highlighting the role of sports infrastructure facilities in achieving success.

Expressing their continuous supports for amateur sports clubs in Bodrum, Mayor Aras stated, "The next objective of ours is to provide a modern football field in Gümüşlük, similar to the one in Turgutreis, befitting for the young."

Mayor Ahmet Aras shared the plans for the upcoming sports complex in Bahçelievler as well, featuring tennis courts, basketball courts, a turf field and an archery track. Aras shared the exciting news that Turgutreis will soon have an indoor sports hall. Emphasizing the importance of infrastructure for successful development, Mayor Aras conveyed that future investments will prioritize the superstructure.

Following the opening ceremony, Mayor Aras examined the new football field and gifted footballs to young players. Amateur club sportsmen proudly unfurled a giant Turkish flag in the center of the field.
