THE ROLE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN DISASTERS: BODRUM MUNICIPALITY'S SHOWCASE

Bodrum Municipality was a featured participant at the 7th Civil Strategy Symposium hosted by Marmara University, contributing a presentation titled "The Role of Municipalities in Disasters: A Case Study of Bodrum Municipality."
Taking place on December 7-8 at Marmara University's Göztepe Campus Ibrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall, the symposium featured a presentation by Dr. Özge Demirel from Bodrum Municipality on the theme of "Collaboration & Coordination After Disasters," which drew significant interest from attendees. The symposium extensively examined Bodrum Municipality's services during various disasters, with a particular focus on the events following the earthquake on February 6.
Highlighting the importance of sharing experiences in disaster management for societal solidarity and effective collaboration in disaster response, Mayor Ahmet Aras remarked, " Dr. Özge Demirel's presentation at this significant symposium holds great value for all of us as we strive to enhance our country's disaster management efforts.”
