THE FIRST MEETING AT BOTIF
The first play of the 1st International Bodrum Theatre Festival, Deli Dumrul, was performed at Bodrum Castle.
The first play of the 1st International Bodrum Theatre Festival, which was organized with the support of Bodrum Municipality, Deli Dumrul, was performed on the evening of November 3rd at Bodrum Castle with a large audience, presented by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres (İZBBŞT) team.
The theater play performance attracted significant attention from the public and was attended by Bodrum Governor Mustafa Çit, Acting Mayor Mustafa Coşkun representing Mayor Ahmet Aras, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy General Secretary Ertuğrul Tugay, artists, officials from government departments, representatives of NGOa and members of the press.
Having commenced with speeches by BOTIF Art Directors Mustafa Alkıran and Övül Avkıran, the opening day of the theatre festival proceeded with the presentation of honorary awards to distinguished theatre actors and critics, including Seçkin Selvi, Prof. Dr. Dikmen Gürün, Haldun Dormen and Yücel Erten.
'Deli Dumrul,' a play written by Güngör Dilmen, was inspired by a story from the legends of Dede Korkut. The play delves into political and social issues from the Anatolia of a millennium ago and was performed by İZBBŞT, receiving enthusiastic acclaim from the audience. This thought-provoking and entertaining play concluded with a well-deserved round of applause.
