MYTHOLOGY & PHILOSOPHY SUMMIT COMPLETED

The second annual Bodrum Mythology & Philosophy Summit, a traditional event, was held at Bodrum Municipality's ‘Şevket Sabancı Cultural & Arts Center’.
Organized in collaboration with Kadim Lisan and Sevmedya, with the support of Bodrum Municipality, the Second Bodrum Mythology and Philosophy Summit featured insightful presentations by experts in the field. The summit's theme was "Goddesses & Wise Women" and it covered a wide range of topics, from Inanna to Hekate, the Mistress of the Labyrinth to the Fisherman of Halicarnassus’ Amazons, women of the Aegean to Puduhepa from ancient Anatolia and even contemporary wise women of Anatolia. These presentations transcended time and place and attracted significant interest from the audience.
Having been open to the public and lasted for two days free of charge, the summit began with a theatrical and musical performance titled "In the Footsteps of Inanna" by Şebnem Töre and Pelin Gezek. Following this, Timuçin Binder delivered a presentation on "Women & Sexuality in Aegean Mythology," and Dr. Meltem Ulu explored "the Fisherman of Halicarnassus’ Connection to Mythology: Amazon Women & Mother Goddesses."
The first speaker on the second day of the summit was Demet Kılıç, who discussed "Inspirational Women of Anatolia in the Footsteps of Hittite Queen Puduhepa." The summit concluded with Özlem Ertan's presentation on "The Journey of the Anatolian Mother Goddess, from Çatalhöyük Figurines to Hekate," and a talk of Efe Elmas on "The Mistress of the Labyrinth: The Forgotten Goddess & the Slaying of the Wise Woman."
Mayor Aras sent a message to the summit, expressing, "We are pleased to once again host this summit in Bodrum, a city of culture and art. I send my respects and warm regards to all the participants."
The summit, attended by a diverse audience of all ages, wrapped up with a group photo, saying, "See You Again Next Year."
