BODRUM MUNICIPALITY UNVEILS INTERNATIONAL-QUALITY FACILITY

OFFICIAL OPENING OF BODRUMSPOR SAILING CLUB FACILITY
The official inauguration of the Bodrumspor Sailing Club Facility, which has been brought up to international standards through the efforts completed in 2022, was celebrated in a special ceremony.
The ceremony, hosted by Mayor Ahmet Aras, was attended by CHP Muğla Deputy Süreyya Öneş Derici, Bodrum CHP District Chairman Tuna Işın, Deputy Mayors, Municipality Council Members, Coordinator & Municipal Council Member Emel Çakaloğlu, municipal department directors, Bodrumspor Club President Rıza Karakaya and board members, Mukhtars Association Chairman Ahmet Cemil Gündüz, City Council Executive Board Chairman Arif Yılmaz, BIOR International Race Committee Chairman Stanislav Kassarov, sailors and their families, as well as members of the press.
In the program, emceed by Murat Cancanbay, Club President Rıza Karakaya was the first to address the audience and expressed gratitude to Mayor Ahmet Aras for bringing such an event and facility to Bodrum. He also extended his thanks to all those who have been organizing the BIOR event for the past 11 years.
BIOR International Race Committee Chairman Stanislav Kassarov expressed his pleasure at being present and extended his gratitude to Bodrum Municipality for their role in organizing the event.
"Bodrum, one of the foremost maritime centers"
Mayor Ahmet Aras spoke about Bodrum's long-standing involvement in maritime activities and its significance as a city steeped in history and culture. He also highlighted the contributions of immigrants to Bodrum's maritime culture. Mayor Aras also paid his respects to those who have made a name for themselves in maritime and boat construction in Bodrum.
At the end of the event, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with the participation of protocol members and young sailors.
Several enhancements have been made to the Bodrumspor Sailing Club facility, including upgrades to the boathouse, classrooms, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, seating areas, and the beach and pier, ensuring that the facility now adheres to international standards.
The facility has been upgraded to accommodate many championships and events, in addition to housing a municipal café, restaurant and a public beach. The Sailing Club, located on 1875 m² of land, has become a facility that befits Bodrum.
