Day care center allocated to the District National Education Directorate for 6 months

Providing information about the Kindergarten, Deputy Mayor Tayfun Yılmaz said in his speech:

"The property we are currently on, owned by Bodrum Municipality, covers an area of 825 square meters, with 385 square meters of indoor space. In addition, there is a 425-square-meter area designed as an activity area to support early childhood education. It includes 5 classrooms, 1 principal's office, 1 deputy principal's office and 1 guidance service."

Yılmaz also mentioned that the day care center has been allocated to the District National Education Directorate for 6 months due to the fact that it was unsafe in the event of an earthquake and it is currently under construction. He stated that once construction is completed, the Kindergarten & Day Care Center will provide services to children aged 0-3 and 0-6 years.

Nazmi Canbaz, the donor of the 100th Year Ateş Canbaz Kindergarten & Day Care Center, expressed his desire to support more educational institutions like this and thanked everyone. At the end of his speech, Mayor Aras presented him with a thank-you plaque.

Mayor Aras began his speech by expressing his gratitude to the Canbaz family and all the employees, who played a role in the opening of the day care center, whose foundation they laid together about a year ago.

5 More day care centers to open in 5 different neighborhoods

Mayor Aras noted that the municipal daycare centers provide affordable services under current market conditions. He revealed that they opened the first center in Konacık two years ago and with the contribution of the Canbaz family, the second one was established in Karaova. He also emphasized the need for early education facilities in Bodrum and announced that in the near future, daycare centers will be inaugurated in Çırkan, Gümbet, Yalıkavak, Turgutreis and Gündoğan neighborhoods, with funding from the municipal budget and philanthropic support.

Importance of early education in women's lives highlighted

Mayor Aras pointed out that women often face challenges in entering the workforce due to their responsibility for childcare. He stressed that women can expedite their transition to social and economic life by providing their children and infants with education in these daycare centers, thereby freeing up more time for themselves. Mayor Aras mentioned that in Bodrum, many families currently struggle to afford private nursery fees, and they are providing services here at half the cost of private daycare centers. He highlighted that they offer good education with control, supervision, meals, care, cleanliness, and the competence of their teachers. He concluded, "We must bring many more such services to our region. All municipal departments are working day and night. I thank them all."

At the end of the ceremony, local artist Halil Bilgiç performed Bodrum folk songs and lokma (a sweet pastry) was distributed to all participants in front of the day care center by the municipality.
