VICTORY DAY ENTHUSIASM ERUPTS IN BODRUM'S TOWN SQUARES

Thousands of citizens participated in the events held in Bodrum to commemorate the 101st anniversary of Victory Day on August 30th.

As part of the activities for Victory Day on August 30th, an official program was held in the Bodrum Municipality Square in the morning hours. Wreaths were placed at the Atatürk Monument during the ceremony, attended by local officials, NGOs and citizens.

The celebrations, orchestrated by Bodrum Municipality's Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, witnessed a sea of Turkish flags as thousands of citizens, from both Bodrum's heart and Turgutreis, joined in the spirited processions and concert performances.

The festivities commenced with simultaneous processions. A jubilant crowd, carrying Turkish flags and torches, made their way to the squares, filling the air with patriotic anthems. The enthusiasm of the attendees was further amplified with charismatic hosts; Ateş hosted the Bodrum Municipal Square event, while Banu Tarancı presided over the Turgutreis Atatürk Square celebration.

Following a folk dance performance by Bodrum Yörük Obası Sports Club students on stage in Bodrum, the Seymen team from Ankara provided unforgettable moments for the audience. After the performances, Artist Soner Olgun doubled the excitement of Victory Day with his songs. The same enthusiasm and excitement were experienced in Turgutreis with Uğur Aslan's concert.

Mayor Aras, who participated in the programs in Bodrum and Turgutreis, expressed his gratitude to the citizens and artists, congratulating them on Victory Day. He said:

"August 26th holds immense significance for us. After Alp Arslan, who established Anatolia as our homeland in 1071, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades reclaimed our fragmented lands as our homeland once again through the Great Offensive on August 26th, 1922, following the Treaty of Sevres. I extend my boundless gratitude and appreciation to our founding leader, his comrades, martyrs and veterans. Wishing a joyous Victory Day to our wonderful people, whose hearts brim with love for their homeland, nation, and Atatürk."

Starting his speech by saying, "I am leaving Bodrum as a spiritual fellow citizen," Bodrum Governor Bilgehan Bayar continued:

"August 30th is a very important holiday for us. I remember our founder and all his comrades with deep respect and gratitude. I wish everyone a happy holiday."
