SEA BED CLEANUP IN KADIKALESI & AKYARLAR

The Bodrum Municipality's 2023 Sea Bottom Cleanup Campaign continues its efforts in the neighborhoods of Akyarlar and Kadıkalesi in Bodrum.
Carried out by the volunteer divers of the Bodrum Municipality under the motto "The Sea is Most Befitting of Blue", the annual underwater cleanup takes place in various coves and beaches of Bodrum. The stages in Türkbükü, Yalıkavak, Gümüşlük, Gündoğan, Küçükbük, Turgutreis, Akyarlar and Kadıkalesi have been completed.
During the sea bottom cleanup in Kadıkalesi on Monday, August 21st, a total of 96 kg of waste was retrieved, including 28 kg of tires, 15 kg of plastic, 5 kg of metal, 3 kg of glass, and 45 kg of other debris. Then, on August 23rd, the cleanup effort in Akyarlar resulted in the collection of 106 kg of waste, consisting of 52 kg of tires, 22 kg of plastic, 18 kg of metal, 4 kg of glass, and 10 kg of other debris.
Coordinated by Bodrum Municipality's Support Services Directorate and Cleaning Services Directorate, the 2023 Underwater Cleanup will take place in the neighborhoods of Bitez, Güvercinlik, Ortakent and Kumbahçe as well.
