MUNICIPALITY INITIATES PROJECT TO EASE TRAFFIC

ALTERNATE ROUTE TO STATE HOSPITAL FROM MUNICIPALITY

Bodrum Municipality has successfully completed the asphalt paving work on 5904 Street, the new route leading to Bodrum State Hospital.

In an effort to enhance transportation convenience, Bodrum Municipality has concluded the asphalt paving project on the new hospital route and made it accessible to traffic. This crucial advancement, long anticipated by the local community, will not only streamline access to healthcare services but will also contribute to a more organized flow of traffic in the area.

The recent inauguration of the new Bodrum State Hospital had led to an increase in patient and ambulance traffic, consequently causing traffic congestion in the vicinity. In order to counteract this, the Infrastructure Division of Bodrum Municipality accelerated the asphalt paving work on the alternative road to the state hospital and promptly opened the street to traffic.

The efforts undertaken as part of this project will lead to relief in the traffic on Atatürk Avenue.

6350 Tons of Asphalt Laid

Ahmet Alpu, the Inspection Officer of Bodrum Municipality Public Works Directorate, commented on the matter: "As part of the 2023 comprehensive hot mix asphalt work, we are carrying out the base layer asphalt laying work on 5904 Street. Within the scope of the work we have done on 5904 Street, we have laid approximately 6350 tons of asphalt."

Mayor Aras stated that this work contributes significantly to the accessibility of the new Bodrum State Hospital, saying:

"With the completion of the asphalt work on 5904 Street, we believe that the traffic congestion on the main artery will decrease somewhat. This street, poised to simplify the commute to Bodrum State Hospital for our ambulance services as well as residents, will notably ease hospital access during urgent situations. Consequently, we anticipate a decrease in traffic load on the Bodrum-Turgutreis Highway, which currently bears the brunt of heavy traffic."
