SEA BOTTOM CLEANUP IN GÜMÜŞLÜK

MUNICIPALITY CREWS WERE IN GÜMÜŞLÜK
The 2023 Sea Bottom Cleanup Campaign, which started in Bodrum's Türkbükü Neighborhood and continued in the peninsular bays, took place this week in the Gümüşlük Port area.
With the slogan "The Sea Deserves the Bluest," this year's fourth stop of the Sea Bottom Cleanup Event was Bodrum's Gümüşlük Port. In the cleanup campaign organized by Bodrum Municipality's Support Services and Cleaning Directorate, a volunteer diving team participated and surface cleaning of the sea was also conducted using an Unmanned Sea Surface Cleaning Vehicle.
128 Kilograms of Waste Collected
The team consisting of volunteer divers from Bodrum Municipality collected a total of 128 kilograms of waste, including 6 kilograms of plastic, 12 kilograms of metal, 18 kilograms of glass, 24 kilograms of tires, 60 kilograms of electronics and 8 kilograms of other waste. At the end of the operation, the collected waste was transported to Bodrum Municipality's Class 1 Waste Collection Center. The Gümüşlük phase of the cleanup campaign lasted about two hours.
The Sea Bottom Cleanup will continue in Turgutreis on Wednesday, August 16th.
