Healthcare Services for 272 Stray Street Animals

In collaboration with neighborhood muhtars (representatives) and animal-loving citizens, the Municipal Directorate of Veterinary Affairs has been conducting health services in 56 neighborhoods since July 6th, using a Mobile Health Vehicle. So far, they have visited 7 neighborhoods, providing healthcare services to a total of 272 stray street animals, comprising 126 cats and 146 dogs.

Seda Özgüçlü, the Mukhtar (neighborhood head) of Bitez, expressed her gratitude to the municipality and its employees for their work related to street animals and stated:

"I believe that by taking such compassionate actions, we protect the animals living on our streets and take responsibility for them. In connection with this, I would like to make a request to our esteemed Mayor of Bodrum, Ahmet Aras. We have many compassionate citizens in our neighborhood who are concerned about the well-being of street animals. If we can, together with them, establish a small-scale neutering and treatment center within the boundaries of Bitez for our street animals, it would bring me great joy. I am confident that our residents would also be very pleased with this initiative."

The Municipal Directorate of Veterinary Affairs shall continue its efforts to protect the health of animals in the region through their animal-friendly policies and awareness-raising campaigns.
