27.07.2023
Bodrum Municipality organizes workshops on "Psychological First Aid & Gender Roles" for its employees.
As part of the training sessions organized for its staff, Bodrum Municipality continues with the workshops titled "Psychological First Aid Workshop for Field Employees " and "Gender Roles Workshop," conducted in collaboration with the Gender Equality Office under Bodrum Municipality - the Directorate of Women & Family Services and the Bodrum Women's Solidarity Association.
The workshops took place at the Bodrum Chamber of Commerce Meeting Hall, where Psychological Counselor Ada Ümmühan Köse presented the "Psychological First Aid Workshop for Field Workers," and Füsun Doğan from the Bodrum Women's Solidarity Association led the "Gender Roles Workshop."
In the Psychological First Aid Workshop, methods were shared to help field workers provide trauma-sensitive services. The workshop aims to equip the personnel with in-depth knowledge on psychological empowerment and support, fostering long-term sustainability in service delivery.
During the Gender Roles Workshop, the topic of how gender roles create discrimination and inequality was addressed. The participants were provided with awareness about gender roles and informed about necessary actions to be taken in this regard.
Following the new management approach implemented by Mayor Ahmet Aras immediately after the 2019 local elections, which prioritizes "Gender Equality" in line with the commitments of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), the Local Equality Action Plan (YEEP) and the project titled "Creating an Equal and Nonviolent City for Women from Bodrum to Turkey," launched in collaboration with Bodrum Women's Solidarity Association, training on Gender Equality continues to be offered to Bodrum Municipality staff.
Bodrum Municipality shall continue to organize these workshops according to a specific schedule. The training aims to contribute to the professional development of the employees, enabling them to provide more conscious, sensitive, and effective services.
