BODRUM MUNICIPALITY TEAMS PROVIDE SUPPORT IN FIRE FIGHTING

In the consecutive fires that broke out in Bodrum, Bodrum Municipality teams provided support to Muğla Metropolitan Municipality - Fire Department teams & Forest Management Directorate teams.

Construction vehicles, water tankers, emergency response vehicles and fire trucks belonging to various departments of Bodrum Municipality were immediately dispatched to the fire areas in different parts of Bodrum, where the fires broke out and intensified due to the effect of the wind.

Personnel and vehicles from the Directorate of Cleaning Affairs, Municipal Police, the Directorate of Civil Works, the Directorate of Parks & Gardens, and the Directorate of Support Services of Bodrum Municipality worked in collaboration with the teams in the fire areas.

Additionally, the Municipal Police and Traffic Police teams were also immediately dispatched to the fire areas to ensure road safety, facilitate the passage of emergency vehicles, and participate in firefighting efforts.

Fire in the Grassland Area of İslamhaneleri Neighborhood

A fire broke out in the grassland area near the Eczacılar Site in İslamhaneleri Neighborhood in the afternoon hours, which quickly grew due to the influence of the wind. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Bodrum Fire Brigade and Forest Management Directorate teams intervened in the fire, and they were supported by volunteers from various search and rescue associations, citizens, and Bodrum Municipality teams.

The fire was brought under control and extinguished in approximately one hour through aerial and ground interventions.

Firefighting Efforts in Kadıkalesi Location

The second fire of the day started on the roadside in Kadıkalesi Location in Turgutreis Neighborhood. The fire, which started in the grassland and forested area, quickly grew due to the influence of the wind. Due to the flames spreading to private areas in the region, damages occurred. Bodrum Municipality teams supported the intervention efforts after the fire was brought under control, and they also assisted in extinguishing a fire that broke out at a scrap dealer at the entrance of Turgutreis.

Fire in Demirciler Location

The last fire news of the day came from Demirciler Location, on the border of Bodrum and Milas. The fire, which broke out in the wooded area, was brought under control and extinguished without further growth through effective interventions conducted from the ground and air.
