DEMANDS SHALL BE DISCUSSED IN THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

As per Article 11 of Bodrum City Council's working directive, the Children's Council was established and the council members visited Ahmet Aras, the Mayor of Bodrum in his office.

Children of Bodrum, who are members of the City Council - Children's Council visited Ahmet Aras, the Mayor of Bodrum in his office and provided information about their activities.

The First Petition Was Submitted

The children's council members submitted a petition to Mayor Aras regarding naming the traffic education park in the Çırkan neighborhood after Saynur Gelendost, an important figure in the Turkish Environmental Movement who has a special attachment to Bodrum. After examining the petition, Mayor Aras invited the children to the first Municipal Council meeting and said that they would present their petition as a proposal to the municipal council.

"You are the future of Bodrum and our country"

Highlighting the importance of the establishment of the Children's Council, Mayor Aras stated in his speech that they would always give importance to children's ideas and said the following:

"The establishment of the ‘City Council - Children's Council’ was a project we have been working on for some time. But today, seeing it come to life, become a reality, made me very happy. I wish you success in the work you will do in the upcoming period, and of course, I promise that we will work together, shoulder to shoulder. We are always ready to support you. You are the future of Bodrum and our country. Your participation in decisions about the city's future will be useful for you, for us, and for our city. We will consult your opinions, give value and importance to them in our activities, investments, and decisions."

The President of the City Council, Arif Yılmaz, stated that the work of the City Council Parks Working Group Commission was also transferred to the Children's Council, saying "Parks belong to them, the best ideas come from them."

At the end of the visit, President Aras presented the children with the municipality's publication, the book "Journey to Halicarnassus and Stories for Can."

The executive committee of the Bodrum City Council Children's Council, chaired by Belinay Mumcu, consists of the following names: Armin Bozkurt, Elif Eren, İmranur Uluğ, Cesim Burak Aydın, Evren Demir, Mert Yıldızgör, Çınar Yıldızgör, Asya Kaş, Ahmet Ayaz Aydın, and Muhammet Demir.
