31.03.2023
WORKS IN DERE STREET ARE COMPLETED
The comprehensive Dere Street project, which is one of the important projects of Ahmet Aras, the Mayor of Bodrum leading the solution to Bodrum's 40-year infrastructure problem, has been completed.
As part of the flood control works in Dere Street, which is located on the border of Umurça and Kumbahçe neighborhoods, where unwanted images occur during periods of heavy rainfall, the Municipal Directorate of Civil Works completed the first phase of infrastructure and culvert works. The second phase of the works shall continue in October due to the start of the summer season and the increase in density.
In the area where the Municipal Civil Works teams laid a 400-meter culvert line, the teams of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality - Water and Sewerage Works Department renewed the drinking water line. In Dere Street, where the internet service provider Telekom and Superonline lines were renewed, AYDEM teams are undergrounding the electricity lines and renewing the lighting poles.
Municipal teams completed the 400-meter rainwater pipeline culvert works in the first phase of the project with a stamped concrete overlay. The second phase of the project, which will continue from Şehit Hüseyin Helvacıoğlu Street, will be connected to Dr. Mümtaz Ataman Street. The shopkeepers and citizens in the area expressed their gratitude for the comprehensive infrastructure works and the resolution of problems. They thanked all the municipal personnel involved in the project, especially Mayor Ahmet Aras.
“Dere Street is No Longer a Problem for Bodrum”
Mayor Ahmet Aras expressed his happiness at ending one of Bodrum's longstanding problems, saying, "It is very gratifying that the work on Dere Street, one of our comprehensive projects in Bodrum, is completed. We continue our work in accordance with our plans in other areas as well. Dere Street was our priority; because floods after every rainfall had become a major problem in the center. We are striving to do our best to avoid such a problem on the busy route of schools and the marketplace. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to these works with the efforts of our municipal teams and many institutions."
