Shaqir Totaj, the Mayor of Prizren made a visit to Ahmet Aras, the Mayor of Bodrum at his Office.

Mayor Aras welcomed the Mayor of Prizren Shaqir Totaj, who visited Bodrum Municipality, with flowers, and the first face-to-face meeting was held between Prizren Municipality and Bodrum Municipality on the way to becoming a sister city.

During the meeting, held at the Mayor’s Office, the development of tourism activities in both towns were discussed and it was referred to the importance of the bridge of friendship to be built between two tourism towns. As the cultural, art and tourism activities to be carried out between the two cities were discussed, the potentials and similarities of Bodrum and Prizren in terms of tourism and economy were also emphasized during the meeting.

Having stated that the approval regarding the sister city relationship between Bodrum and Prizren to be initiated based on the article 18/p of the municipal law No. 5393 was received by the city council, mr. Mayor Aras said: “We shall proceed and develop the phase of our cooperation with Prizren Municipality, which we started with the letter of goodwill. We will officially become sister cities with the protocol to be signed by both mayors in the upcoming period.”

During his visit, Shaqir Totaj, Mayor of Prizren presented the introduction book of Prizren and a painting depicting the city to Mayor Aras, while Mayor Aras presented a Carian Double Ax and a Speech by M. Kemal Atatürk in English to mr. Mayor Totaj with.

During the visit, the significance of the cooperation between Bodrum and Prizren in all matters and the sister city relationship to be initiated was pointed out.
