REMOVAL OF ILLEGAL PIERS CONTINUES
‘The Directorate of Building Control’ of Bodrum Municipality continues to work uninterruptedly within the scope of the new regulations introduced by the Muğla Governorship ‘Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization’ with the Coastal Law No. 3621 and the Regulation on the Implementation of the Coastal Law. 

According to the pier circular, which is obligatory to be applied on the entire coastline throughout the country, prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; The inspections initiated for recreational piers cover all piers in sandy and gravelly coastal areas where swimming is possible. 

Following these new regulations, 46 piers in Gumbet, 10 in Bitez, 5 in Müsgebi-Yahşi beach and 2 in Türkbükü coast were demolished.

Municipal teams of the ‘Directorate of Building Control’ finally dismantled two illegal and unlicensed piers in Koyunbaba and Yahşi. 

In Koyunbaba District, 60 square meters of illegal and unlicensed pier and platform on the sea front of 125 block 12 parcel were removed with the intervention of the teams.

In Yahşi district at Kargı Beach, the illegal and unlicensed pier made of steel and wood construction of 500 square meters on the beach and sea surface, which is under the rule and possession of the state, is being removed by the municipality teams of the ‘Directorate of Building Control’.

It was reported that the permits of the piers throughout the peninsula will not be renewed and their licenses will be removed at the end of the license period in accordance with the relevant new regulation.
