NOSTALGIC CINEMA DAYS BRING CLASSIC BODRUM FILMS BACK TO THE SCREEN
23.09.2026
Bodrum Municipality will hold Nostalgic Cinema Days at the former Yeni Sinema, bringing two classic films with strong connections to Bodrum back to local audiences.
The screenings will take place at Sinema Otopark on Gerence Street in Tepecik Neighbourhood, a venue that once played an important role in Bodrum’s cultural and artistic life. The two-day event is being organised by Bodrum Municipality with contributions from collector Ali Şengün, Cinemarine Cinemas Chair Cenk Sezgin and Sinema Otopark operator Ahmet Özkeskin.
On Friday, 25 September at 20.00, Bodrum Hâkimi, filmed in Bodrum and first released in 1976, will be screened. The film stars Türkân Şoray and Kadir İnanır.
On Saturday, 26 September at 20.00, audiences will be able to watch the 1974 film Yazık Oldu Yarınlara, starring Kadir İnanır, Mesut Engin, Nuray Belbüken, Aliye Rona, Nihat Ziyalan and Semih Sezerli. The venue, which once hosted cinema screenings, cultural events and weddings, still retains its historic projection wall and original screening equipment.
As part of the programme, nostalgic photographs of Yeni Sinema from collector Ali Şengün’s Old Bodrum Archive, together with photographs of local residents, will also be displayed. The free event aims to revive Bodrum’s cultural and social memory and bring past cinema experiences back to life for residents and visitors.
