WOMEN’S HANDCRAFTS TO BRING COLOUR TO BODRUM’S PUBLIC SPACES

Bodrum Municipality will hold a community knitting workshop to bring women together and create colourful shade installations for public spaces across the town.

The “Bodrum Women Knit for the Streets” workshop is being organised by the Women and Family Services Directorate in cooperation with Atölye Mai. The workshop will take place at Nazım Hikmet Library in Umurca Park from 28 September to 2 October, between 11.00 and 16.00 each day.

Participants will produce colourful knitted motifs that will later be combined to create decorative shade installations for streets and public spaces in Bodrum. Women can take part either by knitting at home with neighbours or by joining the sessions at the workshop venue.

The project aims to bring community participation and women’s handcrafts into public spaces while adding colour and shade to the urban environment. Women across Bodrum are invited to take part. Further information is available from Bodrum Municipality’s Women and Family Services Directorate on 444 31 63.
