TURKİYE WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAM CROWNED EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS AS BODRUM CELEBRATES

Türkiye Women’s National Volleyball Team, known as “Filenin Sultanları”, became European champions after defeating Italy 3-2 in the final of the CEV Trendyol 2026 Women’s European Championship.
The victory was celebrated by thousands of sports fans in Bodrum, where Bodrum Municipality set up giant screens in public squares for residents to watch the final together. The match, which began at 19.00, was broadcast live at Bodrum Municipality Square, Turgutreis Atatürk Square and Yalıkavak Atatürk Square.
Thousands of residents gathered with Turkish flags to follow the historic final. After the final point, celebrations began in the squares and spread across the town. Mayor Tamer Mandalinci congratulated Türkiye Women’s National Volleyball Team on their European title.
“We experienced the excitement of the European Championship side by side with our residents on giant screens set up in three different squares across Bodrum,” Mandalinci said.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate our Women’s National Volleyball Team, Filenin Sultanları, who showed great determination in the CEV Trendyol 2026 European Championship final and became European champions.”
