02.09.2026
Bodrum Municipality has demolished 74 unauthorised structures across the district between 1 January and 1 September 2026 as part of its efforts to prevent illegal and non-compliant construction. Demolition works are carried out on buildings for which the required legal and administrative processes have been completed.
According to the Directorate of Public Works Demolition Unit, 67 of the demolitions were carried out under Zoning Law No. 3194, five under Squatter Housing Law No. 775, and two under Law No. 6306 on the Transformation of Areas Under Disaster Risk.
As part of the ongoing works, an unauthorised structure at Aktur Holiday Site in Bitez Neighbourhood was also demolished. Following a decision by the Bodrum Municipal Committee and the completion of the legal process, evacuation procedures were carried out before teams from the Demolition Unit completed the demolition. The Municipality stated demolition works would continue for structures where the relevant legal and administrative procedures have been finalised.
