YOUTH AGRICULTURE CAMP CONTINUES WITH LAVENDER HARVEST IN KARAOVA
22.07.2026
The second term of Bodrum Municipality’s Youth Agriculture Camp continues at Garaova Agriculture Park, where students begin the day with lavender harvesting in the early hours of the morning.
Organised by the municipality’s Agricultural Services Directorate, the camp offers young participants the opportunity to experience agricultural production, rural life and nature at first hand.
Starting the day at 06.15, students take part in lavender harvesting against the landscape of Karaova before continuing with breakfast and a full programme of training. Throughout the day, they receive theoretical and practical education on seedling production, plant cultivation, animal husbandry, sustainable farming practices and natural life.
The camp also includes workshops, social activities and field visits along the Agro Bodrum route. Through these visits, participants explore Bodrum’s agricultural potential, local production areas and rural culture, while observing nature-friendly production practices on site.
Students from different provinces and districts are taking part in the five-day second term of the camp. Planned in three terms, the Youth Agriculture Camp will continue with new groups of participants, bringing more young people together with agriculture, production and nature.
