BODRUM MUNICIPALITY CONTINUES OPEN-AIR CULTURE TALKS

Bodrum Municipality continues its Open-Air Culture Talks as part of its work to protect, promote and pass cultural heritage on to future generations.
Organised by the municipality’s Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Directorate, the latest event was held at Dibeklihan Culture and Art Village.
Archaeologist and cultural heritage 3D specialist Gökhan Yılmaz met participants with his presentation titled “Carrying the Past into the Future: Digitalising Cultural Heritage and New Technology”. The talk was moderated by archaeologist Serap Topaloğlu, Head of Bodrum Municipality’s Urban History and Leleg Civilisation Research and Practice Unit.
In his presentation, Yılmaz discussed the role of digital technologies in protecting, documenting and transferring cultural assets to future generations. He also shared information on digital modelling methods and highlighted the importance of digitalisation works carried out at historical sites across Muğla, particularly around Milas and Bodrum.
Bodrum Municipal Council Member Damla Tok also attended the event. In her opening speech, Tok underlined the importance of activities that contribute to the protection and promotion of cultural heritage, stating that Bodrum Municipality will continue its work in the fields of culture and art.
The talk concluded with a question-and-answer session. Bodrum Municipality’s Open-Air Culture Talks will continue with different topics and guests.
