350,000 SEEDLINGS YIELD CROPS IN PRODUCTIVE BODRUM
19.07.2026
The harvest continues in Bodrum as 350,000 summer vegetable seedlings produced by Bodrum Municipality and distributed to local farmers have begun yielding crops.
The seedlings were grown at the Bahçeyaka Seedling Production and Local Seed R&D Centre, where all stages from sowing to seedling production were carried out carefully by municipal teams. Distributed to producers in mid-April as part of the “Productive Bodrum Meeting”, the seedlings have produced tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and other summer vegetables after being planted in local fields.
Bodrum Municipality’s Agricultural Services Directorate continues to visit production areas throughout the season, monitoring crop development on site and providing technical support to farmers.
Municipal teams recently visited planting areas in the Karaova region, where they met producers and assessed yield and product quality. Local farmers expressed satisfaction with the seedlings and thanked Bodrum Municipality for its support.
Seed Technician İsmail Cem Selçuk from the Agricultural Services Directorate said producers continue to harvest from the distributed seedlings, adding that teams regularly visit fields to monitor development and provide guidance where needed.
Bodrum Municipality shall continue its agricultural support projects to promote sustainable farming, strengthen rural development, protect local seed heritage and contribute to the local economy.
